Ashland Town Library
Donation Guidelines

The books you donate to the Ashland Town Library may be added to the library's collection or sold at the Friends of the Library's book sale. Funds raised at the book sale are used to support the Ashland Town Library. Items we accept at the library include books in good condition, DVDs and audio books. Please donate materials inside the library while the library is open. Please do not leave boxes/bags, etc. of donated items outside or on the porch. Due to very limited space at the library, please donate no more than 2 boxes at a time. We do not accept magazines, pamphlets, text-books, encyclopedias, VHS, cassette tapes, old computer manuals or equipment. Library staff are not available to transport donations or unload boxes of donations from vehicles. Please check the materials you are considering donating for the following condition issues: ripped or missing pages or covers, water damage, dusty and musty odor. Books stored in attics, basements, garages and barns are often in poor condition and cannot be sold. These items can be taken to the transfer station for recycling. By law, the library cannot assign a dollar amount to your donation, though we can give a receipt with an item count. We welcome appropriate materials donated to the library. Thank you!
