Little Free Libraries are a global phenomenon, connecting people with books and helping to promote literacy in communities around the world. Now, a new Little Free Library in Ashland’s Memorial Park has joined the movement to share books, bring people together and create a community of readers.
This Little Free Library is sponsored by the Ashland Town Library and was made to resemble the Squam River Covered Bridge. The Labor and materials for this project were all donated. Ashland’s Little Free Library is stocked with a variety of books for all ages. People can take whichever books they choose and either keep or return them. The Little Free Library also gives the community access to books when the Ashland Town Library is closed.
The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation and the American Library Association. The Ashland Town Library would like to thank the Memorial Park Trustees, Ashland Lumber and the volunteers who made this project possible. The Ashland Town Library accepts book donations for the Little Free Library during open hours.
