The Ashland Town Library is offering pickup by appointment from 1 pm – 5 pm onMonday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 am - 12 pm on Saturday
The library is providing printouts to patrons, residents, and taxpayers. You may have up to ten black and white text printouts a day. This service is provided free of charge. Contact the library for instructions to upload your files to be printed.
Pickup by appointment 1.You will place holds by calling the library at 603-968-7928, you may leave a message if the library is closed, by emailing: ashlandlibrary@roadrunner.com, or by using the library’s online catalog. Instructions for using the library’s online catalog are available on the library’s website, ashlandtownlibrary.org under the Catalog Instructions tab. 2. When your holds are ready, you will receive an email or phone notification from the library. We will schedule a pickup time. 3. Visit the library at the allotted time to retrieve your materials. At this time, you may also return any items you have out. Please remember to practice social distancing while picking up or returning library materials. Face masks are required while on library property. 4. Homebound service is suspended until further notice.
How do I place holds on items? Please visit ashlandtownlibrary.org and click on the Library Catalog tab to search for items and place a hold online. Instructions can be found on the library’s website under the Catalog Instructions tab. If you have difficulty logging in, or accessing the internet, feel free to call us at 603-968-7928 to place a hold over the phone. You can leave a message on the answering machine if the library is closed.
I don’t have a library card. Can I use this service? All Ashland residents and taxpayers are eligible for a free library card. If you’ve had one before but your account has expired, just call us, or email the library, ashlandlibrary@roadrunner.com and we will get your card renewed. You can also contact us if you’ve lost your card. If you have never signed up, don’t worry – you can get a library card over the phone. You will need your current Ashland address and correct contact information. A library staff member will give you a library card number and verify your information. You will then be able to use the library’s online resources and pickup service. When the library re-opens, you will need to show proof of ID and residency in order to extend your account.
What safety precautions is the library taking? In concert with best practices, the library has taken the following steps before offering these services:
Completed a detailed cleaning of the library building
Sanitized frequently used surfaces
Obtained adequate stores of disinfectant and hand sanitizer, as well as protective gear for staff.
All staff will be wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing while in the building. In addition, we will be quarantining all returned items for a minimum of 72 hours. All library services will be operated with the minimum number of library staff, to avoid opportunities for contact.
Returning materials Materials may be returned unbagged in the library’s book drop at any time or placed unbagged in a return bin on the back porch during pickup hours. Pickup hours are Monday,Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1 – 5 pm, Saturday from 10 am - 12 noon. All returned library materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. Only after quarantine will they be checked in – so please do not worry if they still appear in your online account for several days. Please note that the library is not accepting donations of any materials until further notice.
